Description:     Introduces students to the fundamentals of using firearms for the protection of self and family while outside the home. Significant live fire range time including shooting behind cover and concealment included.

In this course we will cover the principles involved in creating a self-defense plan with a firearm whilst outside your home. We will review the mental, emotional, and physical considerations of managing a self-defense encounter including preparation, the actual event, and the aftermath.

Lesson topics include:

  • Lesson 1 - Introduction to Concealed Carry Safety & the Defensive Mindset

  • Lesson 2 - Introduction to Self-Defense and Concealed Carry

  • Lesson 3 - Legal Aspects of Concealed Carry and Self Defense

  • Lesson 4 - Carry Modes and Concealment

  • Lesson 5 - Presenting the Pistol from Concealment

  • Lesson 6 - Presentation, Position, and Movement

  • Lesson 7 - Special Shooting Techniques

Then we’ll head out to the range and put these principles in action.

  • Certificate of Completion

Registration must be completed and payment made in full for all courses.  Course fees are non-refundable*. 

*Courses are subject to cancellation based on enrollment/range issues.  In the event of cancellation, students will be able to use credit toward any future class.

Required Equipment:                   

  • Ear protection (electronic recommended)

  • Eye protection

  • Knee Pads (optional)

  • Pistol or revolver.

    • MUST be legal in New Jersey

  • At least three magazine for semi-automatic pistols or 3 speedloaders for revolvers.

    • MUST be legal in New Jersey – 10 round capacity.

  • Belt-style holster, OWB or IWB with magazine pouches.

    • No chest holsters or under-the-arm holsters. If you wish to bring an ankle holster as a backup, we will review the draw / use methods for ankle holsters. Optional.

  • Ammunition, please bring your own.

    • At least 400 rounds of quality ammo.

    • No reloads or handloads allowed.
