Description:     The Beyond the Basics (BtB) series is the natural progression for shooters once you have completed the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course. In the BtB - Pistol Level II course, we take your skills to the next level. This is an advanced class that builds upon the foundational skills learned in Basic Pistol and BtB Pistol Level I. This course focuses on movement, cover, concealment, awkward shooting positions, balancing accuracy with speed, engaging multiple targets through challenging pistol shooting drills, tactical pistol manipulation techniques and more.

This course is 100% range time with copious amounts of hands-on instruction.

In this course we will focus on:

• Continued refinement of Holster Draw Technique (all day long)

• Tactical magazine reload drills including one handed reloading and support hand reloading

• Real scenario malfunction clearing including simulating wounded pistol manipulation

• Trigger discipline (all day long)

• Engaging multiple targets w/ added pressures of bystanders & noise

• Point shooting and retention drills

• Self defense principles

• Refining the concepts of moving and different shooting positions

• Balancing speed with accuracy

Registration must be completed and payment made in full for all courses.  Course fees are non-refundable*.

Required Equipment:                   

• Ear protection (electronic recommended)

• Eye protection

• Pistol or revolver.

  • MUST be legal in New Jersey

• At least three magazines for semi-automatic pistols or 3 speedloaders for revolvers.

  • MUST be legal in New Jersey – 10 round capacity.

• Belt-style holster, OWB or IWB with at least two magazine pouches.

  • No ankle holsters, chest holsters or under-the-arm holsters.

• Ammunition

  • 600 rounds of quality ammunition. This is a high round count course.

  • No reloads or handloads allowed

• Other:

  • Food/Water

  • Knee Pads (optional)

  • Sunblock/Hat/Proper Clothing - This class is all outdoor range time.
