NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT)
Duration: 16 Hours
Description: The NRA Certified Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor Course is intended to teach the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to conduct the NRA Basic PPOH Course. Following the completion of this course, you will become a Certified NRA PPOH Instructor.
In this course we will cover the teaching of the principles involved in creating a self-defense plan with a firearm whilst outside your home. We will review the mental, emotional, and physical considerations of managing a self-defense encounter including preparation, the actual event, and the aftermath.

Lesson 1 - Introduction to Concealed Carry Safety & the Defensive Mindset
Lesson 2 - Introduction to Self-Defense and Concealed Carry
Lesson 3 - Legal Aspects of Concealed Carry and Self Defense
Lesson 4 - Carry Modes and Concealment
Lesson 5 - Presenting the Pistol from Concealment
Lesson 6 - Presentation, Position, and Movement
Lesson 7 - Special Shooting Techniques
Then we’ll head out to the range and put these principles in action.

Required Equipment:
Ear protection (electronic recommended)
Eye protection
Firearm
Pistol or revolver.
MUST be legal in New Jersey
If you do not have a firearm, we will supply you with one for the live fire portion of the training. We will have many different calibers on hand to choose from.
At least three magazine for semi-automatic pistols or 3 speedloaders for revolvers.
MUST be legal in New Jersey – 10 round capacity.
Belt-style holster, OWB or IWB with magazine pouches.
No ankle holsters, chest holsters or under-the-arm holsters.
Ammunition, please bring your own.
No reloads or handloads allowed.
If you are using one of our firearms, you must use our ammunition and there will be an extra charge (Cash or Credit Card Payment On-Site), please contact jeff@ironsightsacademy.net for an estimated cost based on selected caliber and current ammunition prices.
